Description
As part of the application process for the independent prescribing course, a designated prescribing practitioner (DPP) is required for all applicants.
Completing the non-medical prescribing course demands substantial effort, commitment, and a fulfilling placement that provides valuable insights. Our program facilitates our students with the necessary resources to succeed, including the compulsory 75 - 90 hour clinical practice.
The following support will be provided:
- The learning program will offer opportunities for trainees to achieve their learning objectives and gain prescribing competency.
- Dedicated time and opportunities will be provided for trainees to observe patient consultations and develop management plans.
- Trainees will have the opportunity to conduct consultations and propose clinical management and prescribing options.
- Structured support systems will be in place to ensure the integration of theory with practice.
- In-depth discussion and analysis of clinical management will be provided using a random case analysis approach.
- Collaboration with personal tutors and other medical professionals will be established for additional student support.
- At the end of the course, the trainee's practical ability to assume the prescribing role will be assessed and verified.
